Monday, 15 January, 2024:
First day of our project in Volos. Students and teachers, from Greece, Italy, & North Macedonia, under the guidance of the well acknowledged drama teacher Mrs Kiki Daniilidou, began their 5 day Erasmus adventure. First, all participants were involved in creative ice-breaking activities and team bonding games . After, students were divided in working groups. In their groups, they dramatised a short story about bullying at school and presented it to the other groups. Students interacted, undertaking the role of the bullies and the victims. They shared their thoughts and expressed their feelings about the causes and the consequences of violence, and its impact on school communities, individuals and human relations. Most importantly, all participants spent crative, productive time together expressing themselves, unfolding their imagination, breaking down barriers and stereotypes.
We are all looking forward for what is to come in the following days!

Day second in Volos
A theater workshop was held today at our school by the theater educator Maria Karazanou in charge of the theater group of the University of Thessaly. First there were familiarization games. Then the students were divided into groups and under the guidance of students from the University's Pedagogy Department, they made "frozen" images with themes related to bullying. A constructive discussion followed and the students shared their ideas and feelings.

Third day at school in Volos
Today, theatrologist Aggeliki Nikolaou, using techniques of educational drama, forum theatre and theatre of the oppressed, empowered our students against oppression and violence of all types. At first, team strengthening activities took part and afterwards the students, divided in teams, presented short stories of oppression : bullying against a classmate from a refugee or migrant family or from a lower socio-economic status, bullying against a classmate because of her weight/appearance/dress or because of his/her sexual orientation or gender. After the presentation of the scenes, the students reflected about the impact of oppression on both the oppressors and the oppressed. In the end, they "replayed" the scenes giving a different ending, showing friendlier attitudes with empathy.
It has been a great experience for everyone!
Thursday 18 January.Fourth day of our project . Today we had an all day trip to Meteora monasteries, a Preserved and Protected Monument of Humanity.
These magnificent rocks form a landscape of outstanding natural beauty and they have been as well places of asceticism for a thousand years. We had the opportunity to visit some of them. We saw the breathtaking view and also admired some excellent pieces of art, wall paintings, old icons and manuscripts. Students and teachers, we all had a magnificent experience!
